Description

If you haven’t heard of Jamie Anderson, chances are you are either too young to go to a club or you have been into heavy metal during the past twenty years. The amount of releases and labels that we could tie this Brit to are simply overwhelming: Cocoon, Rekids, International Deejay Gigolos, Harthouse, Dessous or his own imprint Artform to name just a few big guns. That being said: the man continues to be one of those rare figures in nightlife that stayed grounded while being praised by the likes of Derrick May and many other big players. So, when we got to know him through a mutual friend from Ghent we were excited that he immediately came to us with a track and some ideas that resulted in a release: 1992.

As the title suggests: it’s a track founded in the source code of Techno: 303 acid, 909 kicks and many of the oldskool sounds that shaped Techno in those early years. While the original versions were vinyl only, we also got in a few remixes from friends, and we didn’t want to waste those babies. The first mix, aptly called Acid Tweak Mix, is one for the fans of the pure breed Acid House. Stripped down, threatening and hypnotic by repetition. The second remix was made by Kenny Raw and Papillon. We go back a long way and mutual respect has always been a given. So it was with great pride that we invite the lads on the label for their approach on this cool track. The result is a progressive housey monster, very heavy on the bass and a monster on the dancefloor. The final remix comes swimming from the UK, as REMi takes on the original with a suprisingly deep version. A great atmospheric track that balances on the edge between deep house and progressive, and that builds up brilliantly. This will go down perfect in the early hours or an Ibiza pool party.
